Family Holds Fidau for Late Raliat Saadu in Ilorin

The family and children of the late Alhaja Raliat Amoke Saadu, who passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 95, on Friday held a Fidau prayer in her honour.

The well-attended ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall in the GRA area of Ilorin and brought together family members, friends, and Islamic clerics to celebrate the life of the revered nonagenarian.

The Chief Imam of Ayegbami Central Mosque, Shaykh Yahya Ali Akewukewe Adam Thani, led the prayer session and delivered a touching sermon in memory of the late matriarch. In his message, Shaykh Adam Thani praised the unity and deep affection among Alhaja Raliat’s children, commending them for the exceptional care and love they showed their mother during her lifetime.

He described the late Alhaja Raliat as a virtuous woman who lived a long and fulfilling life marked by devotion to Allah and commitment to family values. The cleric urged all present to emulate her legacy of faith, humility, and kindness.

The Fidau served not only as a prayer for the repose of her soul but also as a celebration of her enduring impact on those who knew her. Her family, visibly emotional, expressed gratitude to all who came to honour their beloved mother.

The deceased was survived by London based Alh Abdulkadir Adewale, successful businessman, Alh Abdulrasak Lanre and  Hajia Habibat Atinuke.

Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Founder and Chairman of Lubcon Group, the first indigenous Lubricant blending company in Nigeria, Alh Jani Ibrahim, Managing Director, National Pilot Newspaper, Alh. Billy Adedamola, Former Chief Press Secretary to Bukola Saraki, Alh. Mas’ud Adebimpe, Magaji Asileke,Alh Abdulwahab Lawal, Magaji Ogundele, Alh Abdulraheem Sadu kajola, Representatives Of NASFAT, Lagos,  Representatives of Kabiyesi, Ajero of Ijero, Ekiti, Ekiti state and other eminent personalities.
