The Kwara State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Dr Manman Jubril may be flown abroad for further diagnosis and treatment over his protracted health issue, National Pilot can authoritatively report.
The SSG, who has been sick for some time now, was reportedly admitted at Anchor Med Hospital, Tanke, Ilorin for treatment of what a source described as “high blood pressure, diabetics and asthma last month.
According to the source who craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak officially to the press concerning the issue, the SSG after he was discharged from the hospital was initially taken home before he was moved to one of the government chalets to avoid distraction and allow him time to rest properly.
“The SSG has been discharged and has been recuperating at home. But after deliberating on his health, it was concluded that he be moved to a private apartment to allow him enough rest and time to recuperate.
“But there are plans to fly him abroad for further diagnosis and comprehensive treatment. Initially, the arrangement was to move him to Kaduna where he has a large number of his family. However, that has since changed, the source said.
An unconfirmed source further said he has since been moved to an apartment in Kwara Hotel in preparation for the over sea travel, a position that could not be independently verified last night before this paper went to bed.
When contacted on the issue last night, the SSG who confirmed that plans are on towards flying him abroad for treatment during a telephone chat however said he was feeling better.
According to him, “I am feeling better now. My travel abroad is still in process, we are still on it.
But asked whether he will likely return to office before his eventual travel, Dr Manman was not forthcoming, but reiterated that he was getting better.
Manman, from Edu Local Government in Kwara North, is a former lecturer at Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.
