Mrs Bola Ajiboye, wife of Pastor Johnson Ajiboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, abducted by armed kidnappers last week, has regained her freedom after seven days in captivity.
She was reportedly kidnapped last Thursday, at her home, Elerinjare village, near Idofian, in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara state.
Med Ajiboye, was released on Wednesday, after payment of N1m ransom and foodstuffs to her captors.
However, in a twist of event, the person who went to deliver the ransom and the food items, was held captive, while Mrs Ajiboye was set free by the kidnappers, impeccable sources close to the family informed National Pilot.
Mrs Ajiboye’s house was invaded by the armed kidnappers last Thursday at about 9.pm who shot sporadically to scare away people.
Her husband, reportedly heard the sporadic gunshots, only to discover later that his wife was kidnapped and taken away by the kidnappers.
One of their daughters who was in the house during the attack, however, escaped miraculously.
Mrs Ajiboye, has since been reunited with her family at Elerinjare, and resting after the traumatic experience in the hands of her abductors.
The fate of the deliverer of the ransom remained unknown at the time of this report.
Efforts to reach the spokesman of the state police command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi, to react to the development proved abortive.
