A goat thief Garuba Ashin, is currently cooling his feet in the net of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of Kwara State for stealing a goat in Kaiama.
The incident which occurred on Thursday, led to his arrest while perpetrating his criminal activity in the area.
This was confirmed by the command spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi through his press statement, signed and made available to National Pilot on Friday that “effort to rid the state of incessant goat and sheep theft yielded results on Thursday as one Garuba Ashin of Iwala Area, Kaima was arrested while making attempt to steal some goats in the neighborhood”.
According to him, officers of the Corps from the Kaima Divisional Office, have been on regular surveillance within the neighborhood in recent time as a result of repeated reports and complaints of the residents over missing of their domestic animals.
“The intense surveillance being carried out paid off recently as one Garuba Ashin of Iwala Area in Kaima, Baruten local government was caught in the act while trying to steal goats belonging to Hossan Abubakar.
“The suspect has been transferred to the NSCDC state command in Ilorin while efforts are ongoing to round up other members of the gang.
“Investigations have revealed that these goat thieves are in group and we are working round the clock to arrest other members of the group”.
