The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Fafowora Bolaji has warned members of the public against jungle justice.
He issued the warning while addressing newsmen at the state Police Headquarters on Friday.
He said that anyone caught for the crime would face the wrath of the law, adding that people should not take law into their hands.
According to him, “Some members of the public have been caught in the act and they will face the consequences. “Members of the public should hand over any suspect arrested to the police for proper investigation in order to save themselves from being arrested and charge to court,” the CP further said.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Police command on Friday paraded a suspect, Segun Bolatito Akande for car theft.
Briefing newsmen during the parade, the state Police Commissioner, Fafowora Bolaji said the suspect was arrested over the sale of a stolen vehicle with registration No KSF 626 XR.
He said the buyer of the car had reported the case to the police stating that the receipt issued to him by the suspect, bore the name of a company.
“During investigation into the matter, it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen from KASMAG transport company.
“The suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation and will be charged to court,” the source added.
