Old students donate N1. 8m borehole to Ansarul Islam, Ijomu Oro
The old students of Ansarul Islam Grammar School, Ijomu Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State at the weekend held a 2-day reunion in the school.
Highlights of the event were the get-together dinner, election of executives and commissioning of a N1.8m motorised borehole.
Meanwhile, Nuhu Subair, a Senior Lecturer at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin was elected Chairman of the Old Students Association while Alhaji Jamiu Onikepe is the General Secretary.
Former principal’s of Oro Grammar School, Oro, Ismaila Okeleye, the Director of Finance and personnel, Kwara State Bureau of Lands, Alh, Tunde Raheem and a Lagos-based oil executive, Alhaji Tajudeen Adigun, were elected Vice Chairmen and Heads of Ijomu Oro, Ilorin and Lagos branches respectively.
The executive committee also include former commissioner for Information in the state, Oloriewe Abdulraheem Adedoyin and representatives of the different graduating sets.
The new exco is mandated to midwife the 50th anniversary of the school in 2020.
