About six kidnappers have been arrested in Odo-Owa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State following the kidnaps of four people in the community, National Pilot have learnt.
A source who spoke with our reporter under anonymity said the incident happened on Wednesday in a two different attacks as three people were earlier abducted following another kidnaps of a civil defence officer.
He added that the vigilante group of the community struck into action with the assistance of a retired navy officer which led to the arrest of the culprits.
“Five Fulani and one Yoruba kidnapers invaded Odo – Owa on Wednesday and kidnapped four people which includes an officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corpse.
“The community vigilantes immediately struck into action in collaboration with a retired navy officer who mobilized for Nigerian Army and they were able to nabs the kidnappers,” he said.
He further added that the kidnappers during interrogation were able to give vital informations to the security office as they mentioned their ringleader.
“They were able to mentioned their sponsored called Rahmoni who lives in Omu-Aran as his house was burnt down by the youths of the community.
“Rahmoni was bursted yesterday at Odo Owa, himself and one man from the community whom are expert on kidnap field.
“Two days ago they received a ransom of 2 million naira from the family of a victim (A road Safety officer) they kidnapped, and they were on the verge of receiving 6 million from another victim before the met their waterloo.
“kudos to the youth of Odo Owa community that ransack their den and met millions of naira and some dollar notes.
“They have been handed over to the security officer. Just last year December he (Rahmoni)bought a jeep worth 15million.He pretended to be a local herder. He is an hotelier.
“His hotel has been destroyed, he invested much in my community here in Omu Aran. His house has also been razed and currently now on fire.
“Three years ago he was arrested with a human head but he manipulated his way out,” the source added.
