Kwara Youth Unity Forum (KYUF) and Nigeria Legion, Kwara State chapter on Sunday in Ilorin organised a special prayer for Prof Mohammed Akanbi, Prof Agboola Gambari and four other Ilorin sons and daughters to seek God’s blessing and protection for them on their appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gambari was recently appointed the Chief of Staff to President Buhari while Prof Mohammed Akanbi, was appointed the Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU)
The prayer was also for Minister of State Minister for Transport, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki and Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Abdukrasheed Na’allah.
Others were Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf; Chief Medical Director of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) and Engr. Bolakale Kawu Agaka.
The prayer was jointly organised by the National Coordinator of Kwara Youth Unity Forum (KYUF), Comrade Shafi Alada the PRO, Nigeria Legion, Kwara State chapter, CCO Omolale Olusegun.
An Islamic Cleric, Sheik Suleiman Zubair, who led the prayer thanked Allah for the appointments of the six Ilorin emirate sons and daughter,
The cleric urged the youth to work assiduously for the development of their home community, wherever they might find themselves.
Sheik Zubair described them as perfect examples of silent achievers, visionary, veritable team players to be emulated by all in the Emirate and Kwara as a whole.
He therefore prayed Allah to give them good health and long life to be able to continue to serve humanity and people of Kwara.
The event featured recitation of the Glorious Qur’an for Allah to grant them successful tenures in office.
Speaking to newsmen after the prayer, convener of the event and national coordinator of KYUF, Comrade Shafi Alada, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for finding the Ilorin Emirate sons and daughter worthy of such appointments. Alada appreciated their contributions to the development of their immediate environment.
He described them as illustrious sons and daughter of the emirate worthy of emulation by all and sundry.
Alada described Sen Gbemisola Saraki as a carbon copy of her late father because late Dr. Olusola Saraki used all his life in the service of humanity and for Kwara people.
He added that Gbemisola Saraki has contributed immensely to the socio-economy development of Kwara state in term of job opportunities for sons and daughters of the emirate.
