Kwara State pensioners, under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), have called on the state governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to live up to expectations by fulfilling all his electioneering campaign promises.
In a statement signed by the union’s Chairman and Secretary, Alhaji Saidu Oladimeji and Elder Abraham Gana, respectively, the pensioners said that it is the only way the governor-elect could justify the confidence reposed in him by the people.
The Kwara NUP, who congratulated Abdulrazaq and all the elected members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the national and state assembly on their landslide victory in the just concluded general elections, pledged their support for the incoming administration.
Describing the victory of the governor-elect as the will of God and well deserved, the pensioners hoped that the emergence would usher in peace, love and development in the State.
The people, who commended activities of Abdulrazaq as putting a smile on faces of individuals and groups before his election victory, also hailed his past contributions to the development of the State.
The union then prayed God to grant him and other elected APC members sound health, wisdom and understanding to take the State to the next level of development.
Similarly, the Kwara State council of National Association of Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has called on the incoming governor to make the plights of its members a priority.
This was contained in a congratulatory statement signed by the state Chairman of NANNM, Comrade Joseph Adekanye on Wednesday.
NANNM also congratulated the Senators-elect, Sen. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe (Kwara Central), Sen. Lola Ashiru (Kwara South), Sen. Sadiq Umar (Kwara North) and the six elected members of the Federal House of Representatives from the state.
“We also felicitate with the 24 elected members of Kwara state House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for their landslide victory in the last concluded elections.
“It is our hope that Almighty God will grant you the wisdom to fulfil people’s mandate as well as transform the state for all Kwarans and Nigerians at large.”
