Customers of First Bank, Unity branch were on Tuesday thrown into apprehension when the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) did not dispense money and seized debit cards
Pilot Business observed that a lady inserted her debit card into the machine and successfully carried out her transaction, but the ATM did not dispense the cash and withheld her card.
Efforts to revert the transaction through the ATM failed. The lady who was already sweating profusely was advised by other customers to make formal complaint in the banking hall.
Thereafter another customer, who inserted his card to check balance in another ATM suffered same fate as his card was seized by the machine. This created fear in the minds of other customers as no one attempted to do transaction via the machines.
Some of them were seen walking out of the bank premises in search of other banks ATM to carry out their transaction.
