Central, South declare support, storms Kwara North, tomorrow

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Judiciary and a strong contender in the gubernatorial race in the state, Hon Razak Atunwa has concluded his tour of Kwara central and south in the state with many of the stakeholders endorsing him for the ticket.
The former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly who will continue his visit to Kwara north on Tuesday has vowed to put Kwara first if eventually elected governor of the state.
Atunwa who hails from Asa, was among the gubernatorial aspirants of the PDP who were successfully screened by the north central zonal office of the party in Lafia, Nasarawa state on Saturday to contest the primaries.
While addressing party stalwarts on Monday as part of his consultative tour to Afon, Atunwa pledged to serve the state with renewed vigor if elected adding that he is not insulated from the yearnings of the people.
“I am not insulated from your yearnings and desires. You have spoken clearly; you want us to consolidate on the gains of the past. We shall carry on this mandate with renewed drive, vigor and energy”, he added.
Atunwa who was received by the party faithful, also seized the moment to appreciate his people for their unyielding support over the years.
Also speaking at the event, the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Adesina described Atunwa as a man of nobility, who has distinguished himself in the various capacities he has served.
Adesina said, “Atunwa has shown consistent commitment to putting Kwara first adding that he has an impeccable track record that validates this submission. He has never shown avarice for wealth or confused public office for self enrichment.”
In his remark, Engineer Musa Yeketi announced that the party stakeholders, youths and women have all adopted Atunwa as their consensus candidate ahead of the party’s governorship primary.
Atunwa is one of the prominent names that has been thrown up as a worthy successor to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin East has declared its unwavering support for the Governorship aspiration of Hon Rasak Atunwa ahead of the party primaries.
Speaking with party members who turned out in large numbers to receive him in Ibagun ward, Atunwa expressed gratitude for their support and loyalty over the years.
Atunwa noted that all the gubernatorial aspirants that have so far shown interest under the Kwara PDP family, have demonstrated by their public service record over the years, that they all possess the requisite capacity and clarity in policy direction to meet the evolving demands of the people.
He however assured them of his utmost commitment if elected.
The chairman, Ilorin East PDP stakeholder and former Special Adviser (Political) to governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Alhaji Bibire Ajape, described Atunwa as a loyal party man with integrity who has exemplified such qualities through his public service.
Ajape who lifted Atunwa’s hand as a symbol of endorsement noted that his record while in office is instructive.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ifelodun Local Government has declared support for the governorship bid of Hon Razak Atunwa.
Atunwa who visited the council to solicit for their support ahead of the party’s governorship primary on Wednesday, lauded the achievements of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed especially his financial ingenuity and prudent management of resources.
He expressed his intention to consolidate and build on the gains recorded under the present administration.
Speaking on behalf of the party executives and stakeholders, chairman Kwara South Elders Forum, Alhaji Kola Yusuf pronounced Atunwa as the choice of Ifelodun PDP and disclosed that Atunwa has the support of the entire party structure in the local government.
