The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed shock over the death of Sheikh Qudus Abdullahi Al-Korowy.
The monarch in his condolence message issued by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi foundation for peace and development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, described the cleric’s death as a colossal loss to humanity.
He noted that the late Islamic legendary will always be remembered for his wise counsels, commitments and sacrifices to the propagation of Arabic and Islamic education in the Ilorin emirate and beyond.
While commiserating with the immediate family of the deceased, the Emir confirmed that “Sheikh Korowy was a devout Muslim, community leaders, philanthropist and family man. His death is a greater of loss to us all.”
He therefore prayed Allah to grant him Al-Janah Firdaos and give the entire people of Ilorin emirate and nation at large the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In his reaction to the unfortunate incidence, the Kwara State Governor, Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed said: “Our hearts bleed as we just lost a legendary Islamic scholar, philanthropist, and educationist, Sheikh Qudus Koro.
“I commiserate with Islamic scholars around the world, the Muslim ummah, the Emir and good people of Ilorin and indeed, the entire state. May his blessed soul rest in peace”.
Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Hon Razak Atunwa has described the deceased as a foremost Islamic scholar with great commitment to Islam.
Atunwa in his tweets (@Atunwa_1) wrote; “My deepest condolences goes to the family of the Sheikh Abdulllahi Qudus Koro. He was a foremost Islamic scholar with great commitment to Islam and selfless commitment to Allah.
The renown scholar who is a close ally of the Emir died on Wednesday and was buried according to Islamic injunctions, yesterday.
