Ilorin cleric who killed friend, exhumed corpse for rituals faces trial today – Police Source

An Ilorin Islamic cleric Folorunsho Olayinka, would appear in court today (Monday) over alleged murder, Pilot Crime has learnt.
This is coming following outcome of investigation at the homicide section of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) of the Kwara State Police command.
The cleric reportedly killed his friend, simply identified as Sulaiman and later exhumed the deceased’s corpse for ritual purpose.
The suspect was arrested penultimate Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, a year after he committed the crime at Oloje in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
A police source divulged to this medium on Saturday that the cleric who had confessed to the crime would be prosecuted in court.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have exhumed his friend’s corpse for ritual purposes. Following outcome of investigation, the command is ready to charge him to court of law,” he said.
It would be recall that residents of Oloje in Ilorin, Kwara State were terrified as decomposing human parts were found at Eleran compound residence of the cleric.
The residents had earlier woken up on that fateful day to discover that corpse of Sulaiman who was said to have died under mysterious circumstances and buried at Onilu compound,Oloje, had disappeared from its grave.
This medium exclusively reported that the suspect escaped being lynched by aggrieved resident and his whereabouts unknown.
