A call has gone out to the Federal Government to regulate the production of lubricants in order to bring sanity to the sector.
This is coming on the backdrop of the influx of adulterated products into the country in recent time.
The Marketing Manager of Polar petrochemical Ltd, Adebisi Adekunle made the call in Ilorin, at the weekend.
According to him, the Engine Lubricant Dealers Branch of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) and Polar Petrochemical Company have collaborated over the years towards regulating and ensuring sanity in the oil and gas market in the country.
“The issue of adulterated lubricant products in the country need to be checked by the Federal Government as this would allow end users of the product to get value for their money and equally bring about sanity in the industry in Nigeria.
“At Polar Petrochemical Company we ensure that what comes out of our company are of good quality that can stand the test of time and compete at the International market,” he added.
Adebisi then advised licensed lubricant producers to ensure that their outlets push out standard products to the market.
Speaking on the “Best Lubricant Award in Africa 2018” given to the company by the International Institute of Oil and Gas, the manager said the award was well deserved given the quality output the firm is known for.
“Before such an award is given, so many variables would be looked at, we thank God for the Award”, he said.
