The Kwara Youth Strategic Movement has commended the Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), for donating N20million to the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo for the procurement of additional tools to train its students.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator, Amb. Gegele Ahmed Ibrahim on Friday, the group described the gesture as a right step in the right direction.
“We commend the agency for demonstrating its priority for vocational education through such remarkable contribution and support.
“Worthy of mention is the purposeful leadership of the Chairman of KWIRS, Dr. Murtala Awodun, whose uncommon drive as the helmsman of the agency is unprecedented.”
The group listed the agency’s achievements to include overhaul of tax collection and administration and prudent management of resources.
Speaking further, Ahmed noted that, “The Agency has repositioned the capital budget funding process, by bringing about a more consistent and coordinated outlook to the management of capital projects in Kwara State.
“Today Kwara can boast of a healthy financial profile and a point of reference in the area of Internally Generated Revenue, which is worthy of emulation.”
The movement however, urged the KWIRS to remain steadfast and continued to put the state on the path of financial sustainability and renaissance.
