Shake up in Saraki’s camp: Wahab Issa heads to Federal Character Commission

The Senate President and leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Dr Bukola Saraki on Monday approved a minor reorganisation in his camp following the appointment of Musa Abdullahi as the Director-General of Mandate constituency office.

Abdullahi vacated his position as the Special Adviser on Energy and Rural Electrification to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Although no reason was given for the minor rejig, it is believed in the political circles that the move was part of strategy to further serve the Kwara central indigenes and the state at large.

Abdullahi’s predecessor and former House of Representative member, Hon Wabah Issa is heading to the Federal Character Commission (FCC), it was gathered last night.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony which took place at the Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s Constituency office, Olorunsogo, Ilorin, Issa enjoined his successor to use his wealth of experience in public offices to serve the people of the district and the state at large.

He stated that the dispensation of the dividends of democracy for which the office was established is the cornerstone of the programmes that the constituency office runs.

The former lawmaker who served for two years thanked Saraki for the numerous successes recorded during his time in office, including roads, rehabilitation of Agba dam, provision of borehole, street lights, empowerment to the young and old especially the women and widows.

According to him, the numerous employment and job opportunities that the Senate President brought to the district and the state as a whole was the biggest impact that was recorded as well as the numerous financial assistance that were given to the old and young for social functions and health related issues.

At the ceremony which had all the Directors and Assistant Directors of ABS constituency office, present, the outgoing D-G urged his successor to continue to support the needy and the downtrodden.

In his reaction, the new D-G pledged to work with the management and the entire staff to improve the fortune of ABS constituency office.

He urged them to come up with different ideas to move the office ahead and serve the electorate better.

Abdullahi promised maximum cooperation with all the departmental heads and to be fair to all.

He reiterated that the ABS constituency office is an umbrella body that shall continue to attend to the demands of the people.
