Court Adjourns Defamatory Suit Involving Kwara APC Chieftain Mustapha, Abdulrahman’s Aide till October

The Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday adjourned the defamation suit involving former federal lawmaker Honourable Moshood Mustapha and his cousin, Bolakale Mustapha, after a brief hearing.
The case, which has attracted significant public interest, is centered around charges of criminal defamation, conspiracy, and incitement filed against the defendants by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State, Fafoluyi Olayinka.
During the brief proceedings, the defence counsel, Barrister Moses Ebuke (SAN) who represented Barrister S.B Olodo, tendered an official application to the court, requesting an adjournment. Both the prosecution and the state counsel confirmed that they had been informed of the situation and did not raise any objections.
Honourable Justice Mohammed Abdulgafar, presiding over the case, granted the request and announced that the next hearing would be held on October 23rd and 24th of year 2025.
While the legal proceedings were brief, the atmosphere outside and around the court was intense. A large crowd of supporters, estimated to number in the hundreds gathered in a show of solidarity with the accused.
Both Mustapha and his cousin, Bolakale, were present in court, sitting alongside their defence team. The duo appeared calm and composed.
Also, security was tight in and around the court premises, with several police officers on standby to monitor the crowd. Spectators had to undergo strict security checks before being granted access to the courtroom.
